Community Service & Events
League Events
All year long Service League members conduct meetings and plan events that offer fellowship, involvement and networking while also providing opportunities to conduct its business and further its Committees' involvement in philanthropy, service and education.
Each spring at their May Annual Tea, new members (Provisionals) are given a chance to meet active and inactive Service League members. At this Tea, Members Emeritus (women with over 35 years of membership) are acknowledged for their years of service and newly selected Scholarship recipients introduced. In addition, newly elected officers are introduced before assuming new leadership positions on June 1st.
In addition to these events, members recruit fellow members for other local community events. For example, each fall the Ensure Classic at Rock Barn Golf and Spa (formerly the Greater Hickory Classic Golf Tournament) members join other community volunteers and work at Hole #10 for this prestigious senior tour.
